1.  Aloe Vera

Aloe vera known to be an allover treatment guide for many problems related to the body health. Therefore it is also found to be great for reducing the inflammation caused by canker sores. It has anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties that help in curing the symptoms and heal the wounds completely.
  • Take an aloe vera leaf and extract the gel from it.
  • Now apply directly on the canker sores.
  • Follow the process several times a day.
  • Rinse your mouth with fresh juice of aloe vera three times a day.

2.  Coriander

  • In a glass of water, add some coriander leaves and boil them.

  • Gargle your mouth with this lukewarm solution for three times a day.
  • In a cup of water, add one tsp of coriander seeds then boil them.
  • Let it simmer for some time then strain it gradually.
  • Wash your mouth with this solution three times a day regularly.
  • You can directly drink the juice of coriander leaves certain times a day.

3.  Honey

Honey has soothing properties that will help you in getting rid of severe pain with its magical antiseptic and antibacterial properties all along.
  • Apply about one tsp of honey around the area of canker sores with careful manner.
  • You will feel hurt for few minutes.
  • After sometime, it will reduce the pain and inflammation.
  • Do this remedy several times a day.
  • You can also mix one tsp of honey and one-quarter tsp of turmeric powder.
  • The mixture will form like a smooth paste.
  • Apply this paste directly on the canker sores then leave it for few minutes.
  • Rinse your mouth gradually with lukewarm water.

4.  Salt

Canker sores produces a kind of fluid that could be controlled with using salt and it will also help in healing up the process very early.
  • Put one tsp of salt in one cup of lukewarm water.
  • Stir the mixture well the rinse your mouth with it.
  • Swish the solution inside whole of your mouth for 30 seconds then spit it out.
  • The disinfection will be removed in this way.
  • After that, take a pinch of salt and apply it on the canker sores.
  • It will make you feel hurt and cause pain but no remedy would be either effective than salt.
  • Repeat the process five times a day until you feel better.

5.  Baking Soda

Baking soda is usually available at everyone’s home that contains anti-inflammatory action against the canker sores.  It neutralizes the acidity and soothes the pain.
  • In one tsp of baking soda, add a little bit of water then make a paste.
  • Apply the paste on the canker sores using your fingers or a cotton ball.
  • Sat aside for some time then rinse your mouth with lukewarm water.
  • Do this remedy for four times a day.
  • Alternatively, you can prepare a mixture of two tsp of baking soda and a glass of warm water.
  • Use it to wash your mouth.
  • Follow this remedy for five times a day.

6.  Sage

Sage is a brilliant herb for treating the canker sores. It helps in soothing and calming the wound because of its cooling property and gives you instant relief from pain.
  • Put three tsp of sage leaves in two cups of boiling water then boil it.
  • Allow the mixture to cool down for at least 15 minutes.
  • Rinse your mouth with this solution.
  • Do this remedy for three times a day.
  • Another thing you can easily do is apply sage leaves in a powdered form directly on the canker sores.
  • Leave it for few minutes.
  • Repeat the remedy several times a day.

7.  Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is also very famous for treating the wounds and injuries occur on or inside the skin. It has antibacterial and antiseptic properties that are effective.
  • In a glass of water, add 10 drops of tea tree oil.
  • Use this solution as a mouthwash.
  • Do this remedy three times a day.
  • Optionally, add two drops of diluted tea tree oil in one-half tsp of water.
  • Apply it directly on the canker sore.
  • Do this remedy three times a day.

8.  Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper is another common ingredient used for treating the canker sores. It generally helps in reducing the inflammation and pain due to the presence of a compound called capsaicin that would temporarily numb the nerves.
  • Mix small amount of cayenne pepper in a little water.
  • Apply the mixture directly on the affected area.
  • You will feel irritating at the start but soon it will reduce the pain.
  • Do the remedy two times regularly.
  • You can also have some candies filled with cayenne pepper and chew them. It will gradually reduce the inflammation and pain.


9.  Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide also contains antiseptic properties that would help in removing the bacteria already present inside your mouth. You would just need 3 percent of hydrogen peroxide to treat the problem and it can be easily available in the market.
  • In a glass of water, add one tbsp. of hydrogen peroxide then mix them well together.
  • Use this solution to rinse your mouth.
  • Follow this remedy four to five times in a day.
  • You can also prepare a mixture from one tsp of hydrogen peroxide and one tsp of water.
  • Apply this mixture using a cotton ball directly on the canker sores.
  • Leave this for some time inside your mouth then rinse it with lukewarm water.
  • Do this remedy four times a day.

10.  Onion

Onions have sulfur present in them that are the best source of antibiotic and thus help in healing the wounds and reduce the pain.
  • Take an onion and cut it into small pieces.
  • Press one piece on the canker sores for few minutes.
  • You would have to squeeze out the juice of onion on the affected areas.
  • Repeat the process four times a day.
  • You can also make a paste from organic or medium-sized onion by grinding them then apply directly on the affected area.
  • Follow this remedy several times regularly.
